Introducing 013 - Gaidaa
“Maybe there is more to the mould,
And what we tend to, it grows
So i’ma water loving,
I’ma water loving.”
Name: Gaidaa
Representation: On The Webb Records
Music style: Soul, R&B, with electronic dance moments throughout
Background: Of Sudanese and Dutch origin, Gaidaa grew up in the Netherlands and permeated the music scene in 2018 as the velvet voice on Full Crate’s “A Storm on a Summers Day”. Since then she has run from mile stone to mile stone, completing a full tour, with the very fun name Made it Out of My Bedroom Tour, which walked her through the entirety of Europe and all the way to North America. Gently harnessing the power of art to make change, in 2019 Gaidaa released her masterpiece “Morning Blue”, which was recorded as part of COLORS’ musical initiative to shed light on the political and social climate in Sudan.
Traits: Writing the liquid gold of a setting sun into her every composition, Gaidaa’s music interweaves the power of vulnerable lyrics with the glow of a voice that knows no limits. Lyricist, musician, composer - Gaidaa tells the stories she wants to tell, exactly the way she wants them to be told.
Recent Work: 2023 was a huge year for Gaidaa, she completed her Made it Out of My Bedroom Tour , and released 3 ground-breaking singles: transit, As You Are, and, most recently, Something True. Each project a product of masterful collaboration, Something True was the result of a creative partnership between Gaidaa and London Rain, who produced the entirety of the track. A stunning composition dedicated to the meaning of being, it explores the risks and rewards of living a life, available on Spotify.
