Background: With an instagram following 94.2K strong, and his most recent videos grossing up to 47K views, it is nigh on impossible to believe that London Rain’s journey to recognition began but a year and a half ago, in 2022. Although art certainly isn’t a popularity contest, it is heartening to see hard work and skill receive the recognition it is due.
Traits: He plays instruments, he sings, he produces, he engineers, he builds virtual instruments and sample packs, and then shares the creative process behind each one in beautifully crafted videos on his Youtube, he films, he edits - and all to a standard so inconceivably high and consistent, that London Rain’s is a musical persona that extends through every artistic domain. He is his own signature, his own genre, his own very new type of artist.
Recent Work: London Rain recently independently released his first album Œuf, which is available in its entirety on Spotify, while breakdowns of individual tracks can be discovered on his Youtube Channel. The title Œuf directly translates to “Egg” - perhaps in continuation of Hermann Hesse’s metaphor, the egg in question is the world? London Rain’s world that we are invited to discover? Or perhaps it simply refers to the beginning of something new? To the birth of a new artist? Or a new type of music? Either way, Œuf marks the beginning of an art unparalleled in today’s music scene.
