Introducing 006 - KIRARA | 키라라
“Strong and pretty music”
Name: KIRARA | 키라라
Representation: EBB Music
Music style: Electronic dance, trance & techno
Background: Since her debut in 2014, KIRARA has been a force of relentless self-exploration and reinvention in music. Loyal to no creative compass but her own, she has captivated audiences at major venues, including Trans Musicales 2017 (listen here) and SXSW Conference 2019 (watch here). Her performances, propelled by the most magnetic of stage presences, will have you mesmerised whether they last 2 minutes or 2 hours.
Traits: KIRARA describes her music as a manifestation of ‘high school days spent crying and dancing on a rooftop’ - abstract though such imagery may seem, once you’ve listened to even just one track you’ll think it just right. Inspiring a seemingly contradictory fusion of excitement and melancholy, her music can be electrifying, sometimes unsettling - but always, memorable.
Recent Work: KIRARA’s new EP cts7 is available on YouTube and Spotify, and will have you moving and swaying even after the final note quiets. Additionally, she regularly releases remixes, the most recent of which are the legendary IDIOTAPE’s “Vladimir Komarov”, (YouTube / Spotify), and New Jeans’ “Super Shy” (YouTube).
Side Note: Although I usually share a link to the artist’s most recent release, since half of KIRARA’s artistry is her actual stage presence, I really wanted to share a video of one of her performances :)
